where CREATIVITY and community come together

Meaning Makers
an artful gathering for the dreamers & Feelers

Think of this as the ultimate creative girl's day. You deserve to make something inspiring just for you with no strings attached + pick up new skills & friends along the way. I have created an experience just like that, just for you.

What is all this?

A small hand reaches out to touch a pregnant belly in a tender moment captured in soft lighting.

This is a day catered to and for you. Think "a content day with intention". You will learn new skills, but you will also find a new way of seeing within the work you are making. You will build community and expand your network with photographers who care as deeply about their work as you do.

I will help you to slow down and take in each moment. I will be here to answer questions and gently guide you, but you are also fully encouraged to take images you may never feel comfortable taking during your regular sessions. This is a way to break out of that box and find fresh inspiration.

There is no right or wrong way of doing things. This is about giving yourself the space to be fully creative. I will be styling the sessions and finding the perfect muse so that all you need to do is come and be ready for an amazing time.

who is this experience for?

Do you feel like you are taking the same images over and over? Are you stuck on the same old prompts and feel like your sessions are on autopilot mode? Do you feel like you are capable of more, but you aren't sure what more is? Do you struggle with perfectionism? Are you hoping for greater purpose in your work? Or, are you hoping to slow down and really see the moments unfold in front of you? Do you feel like you are missing a sense of community and really want to make friendships with likeminded photographers? Or maybe you just want to do something special for yourself and enjoy an amazing experience. If you found yourself nodding along or answering yes to any of these questions, this is for you.

Two storytelling sessions

The first session will be held mid-day and in a location catered to crafting a story for our clients. For this experience we will be heading to downtown Fort Collins where there are artful murals and adorable shopfronts all around. The purpose of this session is to break you out of your comfort zone and give you images that help you create new experiences for your own clients.

The second location will be held in the gorgeous nature of Colorado. This will be up to 2 hours before sunset so you get to really experiment with light.

Hands on help & guidance

I will be here to help and guide you as we photograph each session. I will share how I slow down and am able to achieve honest emotion and connection. I will also help you with lighting, composition, angles storytelling and anything else you would like to know. We will discuss my workflow and how I prep for each client.  You will be shooting alongside me the entire time. I encourage those attending to look at the back of my camera. We will have a small intimate group so this experience is not overwhelming and you can take all the images you'd like. I also explain the intention behind the images I am taking.

build your village

Some of my closest friends to this day, I have met within our industry. That is why I have designed this day to feel just as much like a hang out as a "work" event. Your experience matters as much as the images you come away with does.

. The goal isn't only that you come and get to take gorgeous images, but you feel like you have a village of women that want to see you grow and succeed. A lot of the workshops I have hosted in the past have created special bonds between the women in attendance and it is something I am very proud of.

Our Sessions

Logistics

We will have two amazing sessions during our day together. These sessions will be planned around two very different lighting situations and locations so you have a variety of inspiration to come away with. I will be fully styling our families so all you have to do is come and create. I do not keep a client closet, so we will chat during lunchtime about how I style my families without that as a resource.

For our first mid-day shoot we will be shooting in Old Town Fort Collins. Think artful murals and adorable shopfronts with a cute city center. I am choosing this location so that we can use the window fronts, maybe grab ice cream or visit one of the cute coffee shops with our family, and really go for an honest story-telling feel. (Our downtown is so adorable that Disneyland in California inspired their downtown off of ours, so it's the perfect place for this). As a note, we will have a smaller family to accommodate being downtown so it doesn't get too overwhelming.

For our nature session we will be shooting in Estes Park, CO. This is a stunning, mountainous location with beautiful colors and magical scenery. This will be the perfect place to explore, have a bit of privacy and more time to shoot since we can usually get away with up to two hours before sunset-with the light working as it does in the mountains. I will be showing you how to slow down and really see the moments unfold, but also how I direct without over using prompts so every one of my sessions look different from the last. I will be encouraging each person to move with curiosity and intention. There will be lots of time to get all the images you could dream of.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am coming from out of state. Where should i fly into and/or stay?

You want to fly into Denver International Airport. You can stay in Fort Collins, CO-Loveland, CO or even Estes Park, CO. Just note if you opt for Estes Park it may be a bit more pricy because it's a smaller mountain town.

Are the travel expenses included in your packages?

You will have to pay for your own accommodations and make sure you have a rental car for our time together, however I am happy to make a group chat so you can all link up and save money that way! A lot of my girls opt to carpool. I am also always happy to fit as many as I can into my car during our day but won't be able to squeeze everyone in.

What if the weather is calling for overcast or rain?

Colorado is weird so it typically can be isolated or fast moving. A lot of times it doesn't even rain when it says it will. We will roll with it! I am not opposed to us shooting in less than perfect weather and love the experience of spontaneity. It adds to the story-telling and adventure. If the weather is looking really bad in one place I may move us to another area though. There is always a work around.

Are Meals included?

I do not purchase meals but I make sure we have time to eat!

We begin our day at 11 so I recommend having a late breakfast before we start for the day. We will have a late lunch/early dinner after our midday shoot and before the last shoot of the day. We will eat somewhere yummy but casual that we can sit down and chat at. I always like to decide when we are together in case anyone has any special preferences or food allergies. I do not provide for lunch so I can keep the investment lower, but we absolutely make time to eat!

I hope you'll join me for a fun day of inspiration!
