Well Hello There, I'm Sarah Cornish.
I am a Northern Colorado Photographer, Mentor and Deep Feeler. My speciality is in any kind of connection and the humans that just want to show up and love one another well.
I'm a wear your heart on your sleeve kind of gal. I romanticize my life (and everyone else's). I tend to refer to myself as an "introverted people person". I love people, but I also really love that time to settle in and get lost in my family so I can rekindle my creative energy. And I am a Mama of a large brood—so typically there is a lot of family to get lost in. My husband Wes is my helpmate and has been my assistant as long as I have been a photographer. You will likely even meet him on your session. He keeps the Dad's happy and makes sure we don't get lost.
I love light, connection, encouraging others, looking for magic in the everyday, celebrating everything and everyone imperfect, dancing to my own drum, listening to the same song on repeat if I really like it. I also love to retreat to the mountains because I live in a pretty gorgeous place, and Colorado never disappoints. We travel here and there as well and take sessions along the way. I am endlessly curious about life outside of and around me.
At the end of the day-I just want to love on my family (and yours!) and create art for myself and others. So here we are.

Things I am Inspired By:

I. Color, Color and more color.
I love neutrals and think they look beautiful with almost any landscape, but I am not afraid of color. I love to mix things up with funky patterns, pretty jewel tones or punches of unexpected colors.
II. Light.
I love almost any kind of light, but rich golden light is one of my most favorites. I also am a big fan of blue hour and will continue to shoot until the light is totally gone.
III. Honest moments + Details
I think the most amazing images come out of you just coming and doing what you do best--being yourself. I do all I can to make you feel incredibly comfortable and will give you some direction, but I want you to just let go and enjoy the moments as they come. Your real connection is the most inspiring to capture. I also love all the beautiful story-telling details that come out of our time together.

Why the name My Four Hens?
For starters, this couldn't be an about me post without an image of the center of my universe. The Four Hens in my name actually was inspired by our four oldest children-- Lillian, Wesley, Noah & Sophia. It was a play on our last name, Cornish. When we moved to Colorado from the East Coast we decided to continue to grow our family and now there are technically nine Cornish Hens. I decided not to change my name because it's been so long established, but there is no shortage of love for the children that have joined our family. We now also have Ezra, Daisy, Glory, Selah and Lucia (whom hasn't made it into the family photos just yet as she is still pretty fresh.)
We are a busy crew, but we do almost everything together, love incredibly big (there are a lot of deep feelings around here) and pick our battles. It's a messy, chaotic, happy, beautiful life.

Our Littlest hen
Our sweet Lucy joined our family last December. We can't wait to include her in our own next family session! Fun fact, I have worn most of my babies on my session since I began my business until they turned one. If you have a session this year you will likely meet her!! Wes always comes too, but hangs off to the side with her if necessary so it never affects your experience or your images.
