We Begin Late morning. WE END WHEN THE LIGHT IS GONE.
Are you looking for a new approach to the work you are creating? Have you been hoping for a way to be guided with a more hands on approach that doesn't feel stuffy or overwhelming? Are you hoping for a fun experience that also shines light on how to create work that isn't only beautiful, but feels purposeful or even meaningful? We are here to help!
We will work closely with you to share not only how we work but why we create what we do. This experience is both meant to nurture your inner artist and inspire you creatively.
There is no gatekeeping here, ever. We will cover everything from how we communicate and prepare our clients for their session day, to styling, to planning out our sessions and then bringing it all full circle with how we give our families the best experience.
We also go over how we get our clients to give us real, genuine emotion + connection in the work we create for them by demonstrating live with two full sessions. We share our own personal vision and the "why" behind the work we create as well as what inspires us to push that shutter button. We also share in depth in how our work is made technically and how we see and use light to our advantage. You will be shooting right alongside and are welcome to use these images for your portfolios. We both will also be sharing the back of our own cameras as well as helping you with yours. This is very hands on.
slowing down: How to direct and lead your sessions without needing to rush through the same old prompts.
- How to prepare your clients before your big session day along with the kinds of questions to include in your questionnaire..
- Planning Sessions in advance so you don't have to go in and guess the entire time..
- Learning how to control the flow of and energy of each sessions so they feel more fun and relaxed for both you and your clients.
- Maximizing each moment to create dynamic, storytelling galleries.
- How to use light, location and composition to emphasize emotion in your work.

You'll Also Learn...

two fully styled sessions + two totally different approaches
We will be working both together and separately to show the differences in our workflows and our own approach to capturing our families. Before we shoot we will discuss the technical aspects of our work so that when we are on our sessions you are able to see how the connection unfolds and how we communicate with our clients. There will be two different shoots in two different mountain locations in differing light. You will see both of us direct our families to give us authentic moments.

It is important to us that everyone feels heard and seen. For this reason, we both work together to ensure everyone has ample opportunity to get their own photos while creating space for each photographer to learn from us so they can do this on their own with their own clients in the future. You are welcome to see the back of our camera while we shoot and we are hands on and will be answering questions and helping attendees while the other photographer is shooting so no one is left out or behind.

FAQ
I live out of state. where would I fly into and where should I stay?
You want to fly into Denver, Colorado at the Denver International Airport if you are out of state. You can also rent a car there as well. Once we get to the mountains we will happily ride share so that you don't have to do as much driving but you will want transpiration to get to Estes Park.
I highly recommend staying in either Estes Park, CO. Loveland, CO is also an awesome alternative if you want to save some money. It is about 40 minutes from Estes but the drive is scenic and you are close to Fort Collins, CO which is a college town and has a lot to do. I HIGHLY recommend exploring. This is a super beautiful area.
You are responsible for your travel and stay as well as your transposition but we made sure to keep the investment down to make this a bit easier for you.

Do we cover editing?
Due to time constraints we won't be covering editing for this but Shannon and I will be offering 1:1 editing mentoring at a huge discount if you'd like to go over this at a later time.

Can I use the images from our time together for my own portfolio?

Yes!! We encourage this.
We will be helping with your settings, explaining our process and making sure that you have a lot of hands on help along the way. Shannon & myself are both very mindful of our attendees and make sure there is ample time for you to get all the images you'd like. We also make sure that everyone is able to get up close and get a lot of images from a lot of varying perspectives.
There are also times we will ask for you to actively listen versus taking photos, however, so we can make sure you are taking away all of the suggestions and helpful tips we have so when you get home, you can get great results for your own sessions!

What if the weather is bad on the day of an outdoor shoot?
We aren't afraid of cloudy weather or a bit of a challenge and are up for an adventure, but we also have a solid plan and can move things around and/or move to a different area should we have to! We have a back up plan of our back up plan.

Join us this year for a very special experience and hands on education!

We hope to see you this fall!
